When starting you first have to choose a height map (100, 200 or 300) to determine how high your mountains can be (the higher the number the slower the game will load) and which size map you want. However, with some practice and help from various forums it is possible to build nice towns and cities. Also for many menu options and buttons it isn’t explain what they exactly do in terms most people will understand. Both say you have to do certain things to make your town work but often it isn’t explained how to do it or why to do it. EA offers a walkthrough and a manual on their website but after reading both it lacks in details. The biggest problem is the lack of good manual. The program is also slow and obviously geared not towards the average Sims player, yet. It has the expected bug, such as brushes (for paint, landscaping or routing) disappearing at certain angles. Considering EA’s reputation of releasing games that are loaded with bugs and the fact that this is a beta version I was expecting the worse. I’ve been messing around with it since its release and this week I started my first serious town. With this program you can build your own Sims 3 towns (or “worlds” as EA calls them). Shortly before Christmas EA released the beta version of Create-a-World for The Sims 3. An updated list (all Expension Packs and Stuff Packs up to Town Life Stuff plus Barnacle Bay) has been uploaded.
